Kribi was pretty nice but unfortunately my one month visa was pretty close to expiring, so time to head out towards Gabon. The plan was Kribi being a half way stop between Yaounde and the border, however the rainy season is now in full swing and the road was closed. So I had to take the three hour bus ride all the way back to Yaounde.
I was travelling with a mother and son who lived near to my destination, so we helped each other out a bit. The bus station in Yaounde was absolutely crazy with people shouting over loudspeakers, throwing bags around and everything. At one stage the loudspeaker was shouting my name, I could hear it but I certainly couldnt see who was shouting it. Eventually they found me, damn missed the bus, waited about two hours for the next.
In total I think I took four buses that day, by the end of it I was a complete wreck. There were quite a few police checks on the way to the border, but no-one asked for any money, in fact I didnt pay a penny to any police men in Cameroon.
I met a Gabonese chap who was planning on going all the way to Libreville (Gabon) on the same day. For me it was too late in the day and I was too tired. I found the border town ‘motel’, pay for the night or pay by the hour - Delightful.
