Macclesfields Finest - Africa Overland

Mopti was an incredibly short in/out affair as we had quite an early start in the morning and arrived here just after lunch. It was immediately obvious that this was the kind of place which although popular with tourists would be rather a difficult place for us. We tested the water by pulling over next to a camping site but picked up a number of hangers on immediately. These chaps insisted on finding us the best place to stay/eat/drink etc in Mopti and followed us around on a scooter until we stopped at a bar on the river bank. Here we bought a drink and were then bombarded with offers of boat trips/local music/Dogon Guides/necklaces etc. All great if on two week holiday but tedious for us. We therefore decided to cruise out and hit the road to see where we could get to.
