Welcome..

Camilla The Landrover
camilla2

Welcome to Macclesfields Finest, this is the story of two likely lads who attempted to drive from Macclesfield to South Africa with the help of their trusty Landrover ‘camilla’. Needless to say we didn’t make it, but we had some great adventures along the way.

There were breakdowns, parties, near deaths, deaths, thefts, injuries and more breakdowns

The map bar on the right hand side plots our meandering journey. click on a flag to view the country and the posts from that country. Alternatively zoom in closer and see where we posted entries, click on the marker points to read that entry.

If you want to read the whole thing, then here is a good place to start….

Otherwise you may be interested in the more exciting stuff!

Nigeria (Lagos)
Congo (Brazzaville)
DRC (Kinshasa)

On our return we had a little bit of coverage from the guardian, and closer to home before we left the glorious Macclesfield Express printed an article on us.

Planning a trip yourself? If so feel free to leave me a question and i’ll see if I can help. Here are some useful links for advice and people offering their own tailor made trips.

    Hi

Hi Paul, there are quite a few overland tour companies that do trips, people like Dragoman etc. If you are looking to join a tour they are probably a good bet. I personally would try and find a travel companion or two and do it yourself, its a bit more rewarding and you have all the freedom in the world!
